Originally from the island of Hawaii, Ivy h. moved to New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Ivy h. obtained a degree from Parsons in fashion, and with her undergraduate degree from Hawaii in fine arts, Ivy h. combines the aesthetics of fashion with her original works creating "wearable art." Her current collection for Spring 09 was inspired by trees and has hand painted leaves on varieties of fabrics by the designer herself.
She began her experience in fashion as an intern at Donna Karen, Intl., and later freelance full time at an accessories company. Currently, she works full time as a design assitant for Lafayette 148 while working on her line, Ivy h., on the side. She hope to pursue it on a full time basis in the coming future with it being avaible at several boutiques. |
